Carlos Carballo from El Salvador successfully completed one of the SpiceProp programmes. In this interview, he shares how he achieved consistent results, developed his trading approach, and learned to embrace the importance of trading psychology.

Why do you enjoy trading with SpiceProp?

What was the most important factor in completing the SpiceProp challenge?

One of the key conditions when working with SpiceProp is meeting the daily drawdown limits. This requirement was well aligned with both the size of my account and my personal risk profile.

What has been the key turning point in your trading career?

One of the most significant moments for me was learning from a tutor who had already achieved positive results in the financial markets. Additionally, developing the patience to wait for the right opportunities was crucial.

How long have you been trading?

I’ve been trading for about 3 years, but after completing training, I’ve been applying my knowledge for nearly 8 months now.

What is your trading strategy?

I focus on a small number of assets – just 4 – and I only trade when there’s a clear opportunity during the New York trading session. If no opportunities arise, I stick to my plan and avoid trading for the day.

What’s the difference between intermediate and advanced traders?

For both beginner and intermediate traders, patience and psychology are key to overcoming challenges and progressing in the market.

What’s the best piece of advice you received that helped you achieve success during the SpiceProp program?

Understanding the psychology of trading is essential. Even when trading with a funded account and other people’s capital, treat that money as if it were your own. This mindset will help you achieve significant results.

Could you recommend any resources, books, or people that helped you along the way?

One of the best books I recommend is Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas. In terms of mentorship, Antonio Gómez, the founder of the SKYTEAM EVOLUTION Academy, played a pivotal role in my development. Yokio Kenji also helped me overcome negative barriers and taught me to set meaningful goals in life. For me, those goals are centered around my family.
