Discipline is the foundation of every market success. Today, we are pleased to introduce Julio Renderos, who proved his effectiveness by successfully passing two of our programs: 100k and 25k Sweet Pepper. Julio shares his recipe for success, pre-session rituals, and how he became a consistent SpiceProp trader through iron discipline.

1. Why do you like to trade with SpiceProp?

I really like SpiceProp because I've worked with them for a long time and I've always loved their customer service. For example, Oscar García, who supports us, is always attentive to our needs, and that makes me feel comfortable and happy to be with their company.

2. What is the most important thing that helped you pass the SpiceProp challenge?

I think what has helped me pass the challenge, number one, is that I've worked a lot on my psychology. Number two, I respect my trading plan. Number three, I never risk more than 1%. Number four, I've learned to develop a lot of patience. And number five, I've grown a lot with my teammates from SkyTeam Evolution, which is the academy where I study.

3. What was the key moment in your career as a trader?

I think the key moment was when I realized that I was losing a lot, and I understood it wasn't so much about the market structure but about not having discipline. So I started working a lot on my discipline. I believe that discipline, more than how much or how little I know about trading, is what has helped me stay consistent in this new career in my life.

4. How long have you been trading?

Two years and 3 months.

5. What is your trading plan?

My trading plan is simple. I only trade during the New York session, and I only trade EUR/USD and GBP/USD pairs. I manage my risk at 1% and aim for a 1:1 or 1:2 risk-to-reward ratio. I always risk the same amount. Support, resistance, and market structure are all I need.

6. What quality of your character helps you succeed in the SpiceProp challenge (in three words)?

Discipline, patience, consistency.

7. What separates the average traders from the best?

I believe it's discipline. I'll say it again: discipline, perseverance, and the drive to make this my way of life for the long term. It's about discipline, respecting my trading plan, and not making decisions based on emotions but on what I see in the market structure.

8. Can you tell us about the best piece of advice that has brought you good results in the SpiceProp challenge?

Respecting my trading plan.

9. Could you share with our SpiceProp Trader community books, online resources, or people that are significant in your trading development?

Skyteamevo the best academy to learn trading.

10. Should we learn from ourselves or from others?

We should learn from both ourselves and others.

11. What does your "ideal setup" look like? Describe the three key conditions that must be met for you to open a position.

Structure, support and resistance, and confirmation.

12. Do you have a morning ritual or pre-session routine that helps you get into the right frame of mind?

I dedicate an hour before trading to a routine: 15 minutes for a walk, 15 minutes for listening to the Bible or a book, 15 minutes for prayer, and 10 minutes for making coffee or drinking water and meditating.

13. What hobby, apart from trading, helps you clear your head most effectively after a tough day on the market?

Gym.

Thank you, Julio, for sharing your story! Your discipline and professional approach to trading psychology are an inspiration to our entire community. We are proud to support you on your journey to success.
