Marcel Surd: Earned €8,937 in Just Two Weeks

Marcel Surd (Austria) successfully completed the Sweet Pepper 150K challenge in just two weeks, earning a payout of €8,937.80. In this interview, he shares how he achieved this feat and why he decided to work with SpiceProp.

Why do you like to trade with SpiceProp?

I like to trade with SpiceProp because their accounts are affordable, and they offer the best drawdown and total loss limits in the industry.

What is the most important thing that helped you pass the SpiceProp challenge?

I would say it was 'patience' and staying emotionless during trades.

What was the key moment in your career as a trader?

The key moment was when I identified my common mistake in everyday trading.

During the challenge, Marcel Surd made 49 trades, 40 of which were profitable.

How long have you been trading?

I’ve been trading for about 3 and a half years.

What is your trading plan?

My main trading strategy is to wait for the market to sweep some key liquidity levels. If the price shows signs of reversing or retesting, that’s when I enter.

What quality of your character helped you succeed in the SpiceProp challenge (in three words)?

Perseverance, discipline, and resilience. Even after blowing many accounts, I considered it all an investment in myself.

What separates the average traders from the best?

Experience in the market and the ability to learn from mistakes.

Can you share the best piece of advice that helped you succeed in the SpiceProp challenge?

Make as many mistakes as you can afford in the market, and learn from each one.

The total profit from all trades during the Sweet Pepper 150K challenge was €34,538.29.

Could you share with the SpiceProp Trader community any books, online resources, or people who have significantly contributed to your trading development?

I’ve learned from many sources that I consider quality information. Some of the key people I follow are ICT, Tom H. (who I’ve recently started following), AnonimFx, and others.

Should we learn from ourselves or from others?

Others can provide useful insights and impulses, but ultimately, learning through testing, making mistakes, and repeating the process will put you on the right track. If there were only one strategy that worked for everyone, it wouldn’t be effective in the market.
