The Interview

Question

Why do you like to trade with SpiceProp?

Answer

I like trading with SpiceProp because it gives me access to a larger trading account without requiring me to risk a huge amount of my own capital. I also like the clear rules, structured evaluation, and the opportunity to prove my consistency as a trader. For me, it’s not just about getting funded; it’s about having a system that encourages proper risk management, discipline, and consistent profitability.

Question

What is the most important thing that helped you to pass the SpiceProp challenge?

Answer

For me, the most important thing is risk management and discipline. I don't focus on making huge profits quickly. I focus on taking quality setups, keeping my risk small, following my trading plan, and avoiding emotional overtrading. Consistency and patience are what help me pass the challenge.

Question

What was the key moment in your career as a trader?

Answer

The key moment in my trading career was when I realized that trading is not about how much I can make in one trade, but how consistently I can protect my capital and execute my strategy. That mindset shifted my focus from chasing profits to discipline, risk management, and long-term consistency.

Question

How long have you been trading?

Answer

Since 2019, so that's 7 years.

Question

What is your trading plan?

Answer

My trading plan is simple: I focus on high-probability setups, wait for confirmation before entering, and risk only a small percentage of my account on each trade. I always define my stop-loss and take-profit before entering, avoid overtrading, and stay patient when there is no good setup. My main goal is consistency and capital preservation rather than chasing quick profits.

Question

What qualities of your character help you succeed in the SpiceProp challenge (in three words)?

Answer

Discipline, Patience, Consistency.

Question

What separates the average traders from the best?

Answer

What separates average traders from the best is discipline, patience, and consistency. The best traders don't chase every opportunity; they wait for high-probability setups, manage risk properly, control their emotions, and stick to their trading plan even when the market doesn't go their way.

Question

Can you tell us about the best piece of advice that has brought you good results in the SpiceProp challenge?

Answer

The best advice I received was: Protect your account first, and the profits will follow. It taught me not to rush the challenge or overtrade. I focus on risk management, patience, and taking only quality setups. That mindset has helped me stay disciplined and consistent throughout the SpiceProp challenge.

Question

Could you share with our SpiceProp Trader community books, online resources, or people that are significant in your trading development?

Answer

A few resources that have been significant in my trading development are “Trading in the Zone” by Mark Douglas for understanding trading psychology, “The Disciplined Trader” by Mark Douglas for developing discipline, and educational content from experienced traders on YouTube and X. More than anything, studying price action, risk management, and trading psychology consistently has helped shape my approach.

Question

Should we learn from ourselves or from others?

Answer

Both, but I believe learning from others and learning from your own experience should work together. Others can help you avoid mistakes they've already made, while your own trading experience teaches you what actually works for your strategy, personality, and risk tolerance. The key is to learn, test, review, and continuously improve.

Question

What does your ‘ideal setup’ look like? Describe the three key conditions that must be met for you to open a position.

Answer

My ideal setup has three key conditions:

1. Clear market structure – I need a strong, identifiable trend or key support/resistance level.

2. Confirmation – I wait for price action to confirm my bias rather than entering purely on anticipation.

3. Risk-to-reward – The setup must offer a favourable risk-to-reward ratio with a clearly defined stop-loss and take-profit.

If these three conditions aren't met, I simply stay out and wait for the next opportunity.

Question

Do you have a morning ritual or pre-session routine that helps you get into the right frame of mind?

Answer

Yes. Before each trading session, I review the market structure, check the major economic news, mark key support and resistance levels, and identify the setups I’m willing to trade. I also remind myself of my risk limits and avoid entering the market out of FOMO. Once my plan is clear, I wait patiently for the market to come to me.

Question

What hobby, apart from trading, helps you clear your head most effectively after a tough day on the market?

Answer

Apart from trading, I enjoy watching movies and listening to music. They help me disconnect from the charts, clear my mind, and reset emotionally after a tough trading day. Sometimes, simply stepping away from the market and doing something I enjoy helps me come back with a much clearer mindset.

Congratulations from SpiceProp!
